I
have believed for a long time that whatever we put into our bodies has
an effect on the way they work. This does not mean I always follow it.
I feel life is too short to be so bogged down with worrying, but we
should try and make sure that the majority of what we eat is clean,
natural, pure food.
I do not eat ready meals. My opinion on them is they are full of things
that are not food. Manmade chemicals to preserve, manmade chemicals to
reduce the sugar/salt/fat, or even manmade chemicals to change the
colour to make it look more realistic. I break the clean food habit for
food that is natural based but not good for us, such as cakes and
biscuits, they really are my weakness. I do try to ensure they are the
best possible (i.e. least harmful) choices. Homemade varieties may not
last for weeks but they will not have the fake components that are
detrimental to our health. Chips made fresh from potaoes and
fried/roasted in olive oil is better than frozen processed chips deep
fried in lard. This is all obvious stuff, but the reasons for my
recipes provided.
